Risk and be free

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To cry is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To express feelings is to risk exposing your truer self.
To try is to risk failure.

Risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
You may avoid suffering and sorrow but you cannot learn, change, feel, grow, love, live. Chained by your certitude, you have forfeited your freedom.

The person who risks is free.
