All good things come to an end?

"All Good Things (Come To An End)"
Nelly Furtado

Honestly what will become of me
don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is daily
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming

[Chorus:]
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets it and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die die die die die

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.

Looking for affordable accomodation for 1 month

A call out to my readers.

Anybody know of any decent cheap accommodation (Hostels, Budget hotels) near Osaka city central? Looking at a budget of not more den S$40 if possible. As near to the city central as you can get.

Any avid travelers who've been to Osaka before and can help?

Any form of help would be greatly appreciated. =) Thanks Guys!!

35 Live Shows

First Day over.
2 Shows down, 33 more to go.
Lesser IF it rains.
Please rain.

3 costume changes in a 20 min show is no joke.
I actually think the backup dancers work harder than the main face characters!
We have to keep smiling even as we sweat buckets.
Yes, it's OUTDOORS.

I think I strained a back neck muscle.
It hurts when I look to the right.
Shit.

P.S.

Manicure

I had a manicure done.

FINALLY.

I'd been going on and on about how I wanted to do a manicure since time immemorial and today I finally went to do one. It was a spur of the moment thing because rehearsal ended early and Mag wanted to go remove her acrylics so I went along and had a French manicure done as well.

We went to Nail Passion at Millenia Walk and the prices were pretty reasonable for the services provided. The girl who did my nails was really friendly and very professional.

It was quite a pleasant and relaxing experience all in all and YES, It does feel nice to have someone pamper your hands once in a while.

I'm probably gonna go try out acrylics the next time. I want to have bling bling nails like those Japanese ladies for an experience. heh

Photos of my preened fingernails will be up soon! Before they start peeling off!

At World's End

I managed to catch Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End today after my rehearsal. It was a pretty long show and a little too much double-crossing going on such that I got a little lost halfway through but it all became clear in the end and overall, nothing that really dampened the show. Johnny Depp was as usual totally charming as Jack Sparrow whilst Orlando Bloom was downright "swoonsome" as William Turner....especially towards the end.

Go Watch. Go Watch.

.
.

Tip: Stay right until the end of the movie credits.

With that, I end this quick post with some pretty pretty photos.

Have you ever seen a better looking duo than this?

That is one beautiful man

She looks really gorgeous in this picture.

Tired

I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired.

Yeah, its the side effects of my bad sleeping pattern combined with EARLY MORNING rehearsals. Headed to bed at 2am but couldn't get to sleep until about 4am and had to wake up at 8am for a 10am rehearsal.

Rehearsal from 10am all the way until 6pm. Didn't really dance much but somehow it was really tiring. Probably because the dance requires a lot of sharp and high energy movements, plus the lack of sleep and the 2 hour jazz technique class last night where we did A LOT A LOT of jumps!
Headed down to NUS after that for 3 hours to help a student of mine with some choreography for her orientation camp dance item.

By the time I reached home, I just walked straight to my bed and collapsed there for 30mins.

I'm hoping this routine (the early mornings) will force me to revert back to normal sleeping and waking hours without having me fall sick before that! Another 3 days to go and after that another 36 live shows to go! I will take loads of vitamin C and water!

Anyone who is interested to catch the "Justice League" Live Show that I'm back dancing for, it's at Tampines Mall next week, IMM the following week and Junction 8 the week after that. It's quite an interesting experience! *winks*

Okays, I've done my duty, I've updated! I'm going to go shower and crash!

A small peek into the stuff I think about in the dead of night...

Hating is always easier when you're full of anger, but you know deep down inside that you will never be happy if you keep it up.

"Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."
-Wise words from Master Yoda

I have experienced much and indeed, Time IS the best medicine for Anger.

I no longer have much anger. Life is stabilising. On the contrary, I'm full of longing right now...longing for what, I do not yet know but I know I long for something and as long as I cannot find it, I am not complete.

Drawing your house

Draw a house and have your personality analyzed.
Click on the link below and we can build a whole street together!

To view my House and personality analysis, go here

Feel free to leave your comments! I think it'll be cool to see how different people draw their "ideal?" houses.

To those that have joined my street, thanks! You made my day and I think all your houses are all super duper nice and unique! hahaha

Chapped lips

The sides of my mouth are chapped and swollen.......

I cannot imagine the days after my extraction...

sigh.....

I have a small mouth

The trip to the orthodontist this morning was a very interesting experience. I found out that my mouth is REALLY VERY small...

They had to slowly and carefully coax the apparatus used for molding into my mouth because of that and they couldn't use a smaller one because even though my mouth is small, my buccal cavity is normal sized. X_X (The molding process was actually quite manageable though, not as bad as i assumed. Just felt like I had lots of clay stuffed into my mouth and a weird aftertaste.)

After all the molding and x-rays and all that, my orthodontist even gave the surgeon, who is going to extract my wisdom teeth soon, a call to tell him to take special precautions when performing the surgery for me. Since my mouth is small and can't open very wide, they have to be careful not to force it too much or 1) my mouth may split and 2) My jaw joints may pop!

Sigh, the problems of having a small mouth are endless....

Anyways, here's a video. It's very entertaining and has nothing to do with Teeth!

Teeth Appointment

Tomorrow morning I will be heading down to see my orthodontist for an appointment to take X-rays of my teeth as well as do a mold of my teeth.

I like my orthodontist! He has a very fatherly disposition and is very professional and very friendly, which is good because I will be seeing him frequently for over a period of 2 years!

Correcting teeth is such a long drawn out process with so much discipline needed...wa..I really am going to do this...at the ripe old age of 25! hahaha

Oh well...=]

I have returned

Welcome back to blogging, I tell myself.

After 4 days of inactivity here, I remembered my "little promise" that I made when I first started this blog and that was to try to post every day if I could. (See: January Archive very first post). I will not allow myself to slowly tire of blogging like I did with some things in the past just because I felt extra lazy due to a lack of motivation. And with that said, here I am posting about my life once again.

Reason of absence - I was down with a cold and did not actually do much the past few days. If I had posted anything, it probably would have gone like this....

"My nose is blocked real bad today, I hate chewing and breathing through my mouth at the same time when I eat."

Oh well, and also because I was busy researching information for my trip to Osaka in August.

1. Looking for hotels, airline tickets and dance studios took up time.
2. Converting and comparing prices to work out budget took up a lot of time.
2. Trying to translate the Japanese only websites took up even more time.
3. Attempting to find out the addresses and plotting them down on a map together with identifying the subway stations took up freaking more than a lot of time!

The whole process was very enjoyable and very interesting though. I'm excited because I can understand roughly most bits of the websites in Japanese. I'm excited because the more information I find out, the more I'm dying to just fly there and experience everything. I'm excited because I might be able to dance with amazing dancers! I am so looking forward to this!

So anyway, if anyone really wants to know what i did for the missing few days haha, well I went to catch 2 movies namely [Blades of Glory] and [Spiderman 3], saw an orthodontist and read a whole chunk load of Naruto manga scanlations (I'm finally up to date on Naruto mania).

I also have quite a few tv series to keep me occupied while i hibernated at home. I'll list them down and if anyone's interested, you can get them off clubbox or bittorrent.

Monday - Liar Game [Jap]
Tuesday - Heroes [US]
Wednesday - Proposal Daisakusen [Jap]
Thursday - Naruto Shippuuden [Anime]

Finally, I've decided to put on Braces. (Yeah, that explains the orthodontist visit) My decision stemmed from just wanting to straighten my two front teeth for aesthetic reasons but it turns out I have crooked teeth, a bad bite and uneven jaw movements. So, braces will correct all that and also make my teeth easier to clean. Now that is really something I'm gonna have to get used to! No more apples and chicken thighs......

Wish me luck!

Breathless

Oooh Yeah, Blogger's not being weird already!

Short Post tonight, I'm tired out from dance.

Advice: Never go and do a technical dance class or one that requires lotsa aerobic action while you are still recovering from a cold.

Why? You get super breathless and you feel as if your heart is pounding 100X faster than normal and you end up feeling dizzy, "nua" and super duper tired out. I wasn't even doing the routines 100%.

I need to get this cold out of my system by next Wednesday or I'll just collapse from the hectic 3 week show schedule from end May til mid June. Imagine......6 days a week, 2 shows a day, 3 whole weeks!

Right, I'm going to have a nice hot shower and rest my tired, de-oxygenated, wheezing lungs. Shall go and do something to my hair within the next 3-4 days. I look disheveled with "not short not long fringe and out of shape long hair!

I wish I could be like this

I want to be able to cat-nap and make money at the same time! *wishful thinking*

Day to Day

Daily life updates.

1. Am down with a cold.

2. Popped 8 panadols.

3. Found out a few new "old" things

4. Realised that planning a trip is tedious.

5. Landed a dance job for June that pays quite alright.

My Dance Story

Blogger's still weird...grrr. Anyway, today's post is about my Dance Story. Did it up for a friend's blog, so thought I'd just post it up over here as well.

ZZ, 24, Freelance Dance Instructor/Performer, Singapore

1. Short introduction about yourself as a dance-lover.

Been a dance-a-holic ever since the age of 4 when my parents signed me up for ballet. Picked up Hip Hop and Jazz along the way and loving it ever since. I’m particularly fond of ballet and contemporary dance because it’s a genre I’m not particular good at, so I love to watch people dance it!

Decided to make Dance my job after I graduated since I didn’t think I’d ever survive a 9-5pm job for long and now, here I am! Still surviving I’d say haha and the passion is getting stronger.

2. What made you get started in the first place?

I only started dancing ballet because I had inverted feet and my parents wanted to correct the problem. *Figures why my turnout sucks!*

3. What keeps you loving dance now?

A) My students.
B) The feeling of going on stage and performing.

4. Where do you get ideas for creating dances?

YouTube!!

5. Describe concepts of the best dance pieces you’ve (or with the help of others) choreographed / conceptualized.

I’ve got lots of concepts and visualizations in my head, haven’t had a chance to actually “physicalise” it yet but my most satisfied choreography to date, you can watch it under "My Choreo, My Dancers". Not actually a concept, Just a big scale montage item. . It’s my first major choreography for a musical production. Hip Hop and Jazz combined.

6. Describe some of your best dance mentors / inspirational figures.

Patrick “Tricky P” Loo - The man who made me love Hip Hop and who got me working hard to unleash the potential I never thought I had.

Also, everyone who has encouraged me along the way!

Inspirational figures….too many to list. If you got the moves, you're the inspiration!

7. How has dance shaped your life positively in other areas? (eg. character, learning skills, physical health, relationships etc)

Dance has brought me out of my shell. I used to be a really shy and introverted girl. When I dance, I feel like I can be anyone I want to be. Dance has taught me that if I am daring enough to just take the first step and try, nothing is impossible.

8. How have you positively impacted others through dance?

Erh…I’d have to ask my students. But, I think I have managed to share and convey the love for dance with them. I am always very touched when my students tell me they enjoyed the class and would like to keep dancing.

A good workout plus happy vibes and an urge to further improve, that’s good enough for now.

9. How would you positively impact others through dance in future?

I’ll take it a step at a time for now…=)

Quotes and A stupid Qns

I have a question to ask my readers today. Use some brain juice for this post!

Qns: What are 5 similarities between Micheal Jackson and Mickey Mouse?

Answers revealed at the end of the post.(Don't cheat!)

************

Here are some inspirational quotes for anyone who needs them.

Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give. ~Theodore Roosevelt

Dreams are renewable. No metter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born. ~Dr. Dale Turner

I have learned that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. ~Henry David Thoreau

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may
be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

Lastly, the answer you have(?) been waiting for

Project Happiness

I'm doing this on a whim. I may not make sense but I just browsed through my MSN friend's list and I noticed quite a few friends with not so happy nicks and personal messages and I realise how important it is to be happy.

Even if you've had a really bad day, week, month or year... tell yourself you're still breathing and it hasn't killed you, so why spend the energy on feeling down and secretly hoping people will notice and come comfort you (they probably and usually will not) when you yourself hold the ability to shrug it off and with your own strength, go do something that makes you happy and take a load off your shoulders? Even if it's just for a short second.

Therefore, for the Month of May, I shall attempt to provide some cheerful moments for anyone who chances on my blog and happens to be in a down spot. I'm not doing that because I suddenly feel like being a saint. It is because I realise that writing dorky happy things on my blog makes me happy and it is something I can do with my own strength. If I put a smile on someone's face at the same time, isn't that more worthwhile? Even for the tiniest bit.

*As you can see, I have strange and quirky thoughts at 5.00am in the mornings, I owe it to my very screwed body clock*

So, to start off my very sudden whim, here's a picture and a crack video! =)

Since I'm a dance-a-holic, of course it's related to dance! I stole this off Trev's friendster....I love it!! Hope you all like it too!

Funny Japanese Pranks

Okay...it's not very nice to make fun of people but it's crack! We all need to learn to laugh at ourselves more! =P ( I love the exploding cigarette prank )
